Braywick swim session
October 23, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Dear All
Firstly, we hope that you are all well. I’m aware that some people are not included on this email – If you know of anyone who is not included, please forward this email to them & cc me to add them in future – thank you.
Please see the latest calendar v8 (attached to email sent) . Club update is below – please read all.
Please note that this coming Saturday 16 October, there is a gala at Braywick and we will be swimming @ St Pirans: 17.00 – 17.40 Assisted swimmers (with parents / carers); 17.40 – 18.30 Unassisted swimmers..
Please note we will also be swimming @ St. Pirans on 4th December.
From 23 October, Braywick have confirmed that we will revert to our normal swimming times & schedule at Braywick: 17.00 – 18.00, without staggered exit times.
Braywick has also confirmed that from 23 October, it has lifted COVID operating restrictions. The Starfish Committee has agreed to fall into line with this, but please note this is an individual decision. If you wish to continue using masks and observe social distancing then please do so. However, please continue to test for COVID in line with Government advice and if you or anyone in your household show signs of COVID then please do not attend any Starfish session(s) until you are either cleared by PCR test or have passed the 10 day threshold.
This means that, from 23 October, Starfish will allow volunteers (or other parents) to swim with members outside of their family bubbles on condition that the volunteer / other parent has been DBS checked. If you are able and willing to support non-family members in the pool and have not been DBS checked by Starfish, please let Erin Cook know (Erin is the Club Welfare Officer). Again, this is an individual decision for families and volunteers and, practically, there are likely to be only a few volunteers available. Therefore, where your member requires assistance in the pool, you should come prepared to support them in the water. If not they may be unable to take part.
Alan Cotter has been searching for the special needs galas that we have previously attended, but these have not been scheduled to date.
We are planning for an Xmas party this year, details to follow.
Finally, the Starfish AGM planned for 10 November. This will be virtual and please let Peter Hunt know (peterhunt1e@gmail.com) if you want an invite. FYI the committee is becoming increasingly stretched and long-in-tenure. If you can contribute to the running of the club, please let a member of the committee know.
Best wishes
Starfish Committee
