Swimming coaches and teachers qualified to ASA level 1 and 2 level are required.
While an advantage, special needs experience is not essential. Our pay rates for coaches and teachers are competitive because we recognise the importance of attracting and retaining good people. Recognising commitment every week maybe difficult, the Club operates a roster system, however there is a minimum time commitment of 2 (1 hour) sessions per month Sept – July at the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead between 17.00 – 18.00 hrs. The Club operates a grading system with members progressing through when milestones have been achieved.
Lesson plans are built around these. Working within a structure managed by the Teacher Team Leader, and depending upon your experience, you would be working with members ranging from non-swimmers through to experienced gala competitors.
Non-swimmers and those developing strokes will normally be supported on a 1:1 basis in the water by a helper / volunteer and you would be directing the member and volunteer to work towards the session objectives. The more experienced members swim independently and require direction and motivation to build stroke capability, stamina and speed.
If you are interested in teaching or coaching with the Club and have an ASA qualification we would be delighted to hear from you. Please use the Contact Form and select “Volunteer/Teacher recruiter” to contact the person responsible, indicating your qualifications and contact details.
